The Iron Curtain involves the building of a divider comprised of the sole plates of broken electric irons.

The audience is complicit in the building of their own isolation wall attaching the plates to the growing metallic curtain in a pattern of their own choosing. When the curtain is finished, it is torn down, and reconstructed by the next viewer.

As fast as the people tear down walls of separation, new ones are built.

Part of a series of sculptures & installations about ideological borders.
